MASK MONDAY WEEK ✌️
We are happy to introduce this week's St. Louis Designer - Alexis Giger and her INDIGO TIE DYE mask!
Here is a little backstory on Alexis, by Alexis:
I'm a St. Louis-based designer who was laid off due to the pandemic mid-March. The day after losing my job, I started making masks. Using my hands to create meaningful work has kept me on course the past few months, and allowed me to reconnect with my roots in workwear and indigo dyeing. I have been experimenting with indigo dye for years, and have amassed a collection of textiles that, until now, I hadn't found the right purpose for. I hope to pass on some of the joy making these masks has brought me, as well as keep my community safe.
The masks are Hand indigo-dyed upper, recycled cotton muslin facing, and reclaimed textile ties.
Of course, each would be slightly different due to the dye, but that's the best part!
